Play and Pray

No space or time to pray?

How do I help my child discover prayer,

whilst also finding nurture myself?

A 6-week daytime interactive course for toddlers, pre-schoolers and their carers

Mums, Dads and Carers… ‘I don’t get a chance to pray, I have the children with me’… come and try out creative ways of becoming aware of God together. There are oodles of ways of making prayer fun and yet real; something parents and children can do together in the midst of the ‘untidiness’ of everyday life.

Over six one hour sessions we will explore ideas you can try out at home, as well as support each other in knowing more of the God who both welcomes children and gives grace to busy adults.

Together we hope to:

  • Pray with our imaginations
  • Pray using our bodies
  • Use bubbles, play-doh, nature
  • Embrace Godly moments with children
  • Pray with children’s stories
  • Paint our prayers
  • Express our prayers in songs
  • Spend time in silence – is it possible with children?!
  • Encourage ideas for praying as a family

We hope to be together in a way that neither child nor adult need feel they have to meet God in the same way, nor at the same level of the other, but can still pray together and receive whatever each needs.
